When it comes to embracing new seasons, having the right tools could make all the difference.
While the mere thought of a new season could be quite terrifying, I think that trusting in God with anything that you encounter in this new season (from your love-life to your next career move) is definitely the number one key to making this a smooth transition.
The beauty behind this is that God gives us His reassurance and love daily. And He also left us with some really useful tools!
And if you’re one to plan ahead, make lists, set goals, or just like to maintain organization in your life, then these valuable tools are exactly what you need!
Not only are they perfect for helping you keep things together, but they also encourage you to seek God consistently.
Speaking from personal experience, I always feel grounded, clear-headed, and more at peace after using these tools. Some of them I use every day, while others I use once a week, or as needed.
Nevertheless, with these tools combined, I am sure of entering a new season with confidence, faith, and purpose in my calling, goals, and values!
So without further ado, here are the six tools that you should use ASAP to live life with total faith and purpose.
Let me tell you a funny story that began with Lara Casey’s Cultivate What Matters Shop and ended with these amazing Powersheets.
Last year, before my son was born, I had decided to actively blog about faith-based relationships. So with that, I was cleaning out of all of my old stuff and wanted a fresh start. This included my office environment.
So I’ve been following Lara Casey for some time (because she’s my Wonder Woman, basically) and I came across some gold-font prints.
They were stunning and I had to have them in my new office! So I ordered them, along with her book, “Make It Happen: Surrender Your Fear, Take the Leap, Live on Purpose” and waited for my gifts to arrive in the mail.
Wouldn’t you know that NOT ONLY did I get what I originally paid for, but I also received several postcards, some encouragement cards to give away, AND the lovely Powersheets. #lifechanging
Powersheets is essentially a planner (seasonal, monthly, weekly, and daily) but they take your goals to the next level.
Not only am I focused on my goals, but they also allow me to focus on my relationships in life, the great things I experienced each month, things I should say “no” to after each month of reflecting, and so much more!
I could seriously write an entire blog post about this tool, and perhaps one day I will… but for now, take my word for it! If you’re looking for a fresh start in a fresh season, this is the tool for you!
FYI- This product is listed as Coming Soon!
I love to journal and take notes. Naturally, when it came to taking my quiet time with God to the next level, I was in need of something that would allow me to do just that.
In comes the “Give Me Jesus” Journal.
The Well Watered Women Co. does such an amazing with their delivery that I would easily buy everything in their shop if I could afford it.
For now, I went with this tool. It challenges me to sit still and focus on my time with God. No distractions.
Every journal prompt was designed to help you draw deeper and closer to God.
With sections like, weekly moments with Jesus (where I set specific days aside to pray about specific things), Be Still and Know (where I literally jot down what I’m hearing from God), and Drink Deep from the Well (where I purposely write about the scripture I’m reading that day and what God is trying to teach me within His Word), this journal is no joke.
What I liked about this journal also is that they sell a short version (for folks with not a lot of time on their hands) and a longer version. I bought the full version prior to having kids. Next time, I’ll definitely check out the shorter version, which I’m sure is just as gorgeous and purposeful.
Sidenote: They did just launch an exciting new product series called, “Redefined!” It’s supposed to include journals, mugs, apparel, and of course, it’s all eye-candy! Since I haven’t purchased any of these for myself yet, I can’t tell you how they are (though, if it’s anything like their journal, then I know it’s awesome!) Anyways, take note in case you’re looking around their site!
I used to give these journals away to my clients when I wasn’t offering online coaching courses. But now I just buy them for myself.
For starters, Daily Greatness offers six different journals: Life, Wellness, Business, Parenting, Yoga, and 12-Week Fitness.
So far, I have used three of the six journals that Daily Greatness offers and man, I feel like I get stuff done!!
They are all very detailed and precise, covering just about any detail you would have when it comes to that particular topic.
These tools will help you map out your yearly intentions (based on which journal you’re using), then will help you break down those yearly intentions into doable goals for your season, then a month, then a week, and even down to the day.
There are even budget planning and expense tracking in the business journal! As for the wellness journal, you get grocery lists and workout schedules. In the 12-week fitness journal, you get mindset prompts and daily evaluations on what’s been working and what hasn’t. Super helpful.
Where I use Powersheets for my everyday life/relationship goals, and the Give Me Jesus Journal for my spiritual goals, I use the Daily Greatness Journals to keep my operational goals in check and organized.
Now there are some other tools that you can use to help you in your everyday life, that aren’t for planning. While the planning tools take you to that purposeful level and help you stay grounded in your faith, these next tools are a few things you can easily carry with you in your purse/bag to use anytime, anywhere!
While this is also labeled as a journal, it is more of a devotional that you can carry with you as a printed book, or as an e-book!
Based on my free 7-day devotional, “Love Deep: Your Path to Finding Love in God, Yourself, and Mr. Right“, this journal will give you an in-depth study of where to find love in your life and how to embrace it.
Because it’s only a week-long devotional, you can use this study to kick-start your new season, or you can use it as a seasonal reminder of where you can find love in your everyday life.
Complete with prayer prompts, reflection questions, and Bible study points, this devotional journal has everything you’ll need to give your love-life the boost it needs!
Sidenote: Have you checked out the free devotional yet? If not, check out a sample of the journal here!
5. Pocket Journals (Cultivate What Matters OR Amazon!)
Stick a pretty bookmark in there, highlight all the things you got done for the day/week, and boom! You’re good to go!
Some turn these journals into bullet journals, which seem to be all the craze these days. But if you’re just in need of something that’s a bit more durable than the handy post-it, this tool is what you need to add to your purse ASAP!
You know, just something to jot your thoughts down, set a reminder, make a list, etc. Something you actually like to have something visible that you can read later in the day. Instead of pulling out the of the unorganized Notes section of your phone. Or is that just me?
Anyways, if you like that old-fashioned touch of jotting things down, then perhaps you’ll also like these Pshine Memo Charming Portable Mini Smiley Diaries too. Small, durable cover, lined and solid paper, what could go wrong here?
Also, if you wanna journal that has a bit more meaning to it, you can also check out the Prayer Pocket Journal from Cultivate What Matters! You already know how I feel about these women and their amazing products. Well, this one is fairly new and just as purposeful as the Powersheets! Check it out here and order your journal before they sell out. Again.
Nothing wrong with that! However, as I noted before, I like to flip through pages and underline things. Call me old-fashioned. So one year, I bought myself a compact Bible and now I carry this thing everywhere. It makes traveling super easy now because it fits just about anywhere.
Even better is that this particular compact Bible, the NIV, Real-Life Devotional Bible for Women, Compact, Imitation Leather, Brown/Pink: Insights for Everyday Life, has a daily devotional portion added to it.
So when you’re on the go, and you just wanna bring the Word of God with you, you now can.
I used to feel like carrying my normal sized Bible was daunting. And my Bible app doesn’t always keep me focused due to all those notification pop-ups!
But this tool makes it easy for me to dig time out of my day, wherever I may be. With time to spare, I get to dive into some meaningful moments with God.
So what are some meaningful tools that help you live life with faith and purpose? Let me know in the comments section!
